¡Feliz Navidad!

These Draw-on-Grid assignments continue to be popular in my TpT Store!  They are a great assignment to do during the holidays!  They are also great for keeping students engaged while doing speaking tests with students one-on-one.  Look for more creations coming soon!  But, for now, try out one of these!  You can find them here at my store!

¡La familia!

¡Hola!  I am getting ready to post more activities/assignments, etc. for my family unit in my TpT store.  I just wanted to share with you something that I do as I begin this unit.  You might do this before or after you present a vocabulary list for the family.  Students should be able to understand what you are saying by the pictures in your PowerPoint and, therefore, learn the vocabulary or at least recognize it in context.

I put together a PowerPoint with pictures to introduce my family and some of my extended family to my students.

I then type up a list of questions to go along with the PowerPoint (each slide is numbered to help them stay on track.)  This is not a very difficult assignment, but it does encourage the students to participate in a listening activity completely in Spanish!  I collect their papers at the end and I do grade them for right/wrong answers and enter as a homework or participation grade.  It has been a great success!

I try to make sure to add questions with fun and interesting trivia about my family.  For example, I am a twin and I had twins.  Also, both of my grandmothers had the same first name, Iva. (What are the odds of that?)
